Camp South Africa

For travelers seeking both adventure and impact, South Africa is an ideal destination. Further Travel’s Camp South Africa programs focus on wildlife conservation, English teaching, and sports coaching. We have two options to choose from; our sports coaching and English teaching program and our animal conservation program.

The sports coaching and English teaching program typically runs from four to 12 weeks. You can choose to either coach sports, teach English, or combine the two. Typically, sports coaches visit several schools per day, for around 30 minutes each. English teachers visit a few different schools each week, teaching in small groups to help students with their English workbooks. Your evenings and weekends are yours for relaxing, adventuring, or a bit of both! 

Our wildlife conservation volunteering program is a two-week immersive experience where you live on a 6,000-hectare game reserve. You’ll have the chance to explore it and see the majestic creatures up close and personal, and learning all about the plights of these incredible animals. 

Your 9 am to 5 pm workdays will be spent planting trees and shrubs on the reserve, performing animal monitoring and counting, and participating in educational activities. Relax at the reserve in the evenings, and explore nearby Port Elizabeth on the weekends. You can even try skydiving, surfing, or bungee jumping!

With your new travel buddies, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Hanoi like a local before making the trip to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. You’ll get to explore some caves and do some hiking in absolutely stunning surrounds before heading to the stunning Hoi An where you’ll get to do (among other things) a foodie tour. 

The Cambodian portion of the tour kicks off in the bustling capital, Phnom Penh. You’ll get a full-day immersive walking tour across the city, including a visit to the Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum to learn about the Khmer Rouge rule. Next, it’s onto Siem Reap, where you’ll get to experience an incredible Angkor Wat sunrise and tour. 

In terms of impact, you’ll have the chance to recycle riverside-plastic waste in Vietnam, turning it into makeshift, reusable building blocks which can be used in schools and communities.
